Chuck Woolery passes away at 83, claims report

Chuck Woolery passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the age of 83.

Woolery died at his home in Texas in the presence of his wife, Kristen, according to longtime friend and podcast co-host Mark Young. “Chuck was a dear friend and brother and a tremendous man of faith, life will not be the same without him,” Young wrote in an e-mail to the Associated Press.

Young also took to X (Twitter) to confirm Chuck Woolery’s death.

Mark Young told TMZ that Woolery’s wife Kristen, revealed that the ex-Wheel of Fortune host was feeling unwell and had gone to take some rest. Kristen went into their room soon after and found out that he had trouble breathing. Emergency services were called, but Woolery passed away.

An outpouring of condolences and tributes hit X, in the wake of Woolery’s death. “This is a loss for all of us. Condolences, Mark,” actor James Woods wrote on the site. “RIP Chuck Woolery.”

Weather anchor and Fox & Friends co-host Janice Dean tweeted, “So grateful I got to talk to @chuckwoolery⁩ a few months ago. One of my favorite podcasts ever. He was the best. Godspeed, my friend. I love you.”

In addition to having hosted Wheel of Fortune between 1975 and 1981, Woolery also hosted Love Connection, a popular dating show. His other hosting stints include Scrabble, Greed, Lingo, and the revival of The Dating Game. Moreover, Woolery also hosted his own short-lived talk show, The Chuck Woolery Show in 1991. Furthermore, he and his family were also the stars of a short-lived reality series, Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned, which aired in 2003.
