A brand new Moana 2 clip from Disney’s highly-anticipated animated sequel has been released, teasing Dwayne Johnson’s return as Maui. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 27, 2024.
“The film reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers,” reads the official synopsis. “After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”

What happens in the Moana 2 clip?
The video provides fans with a closer look at Maui’s return as he shows off his transformation powers. It also features Maui meeting Moana’s adorable pet pig Pua, who he calls bacon. The sequel will feature the voices of Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Rachel House as Tala, Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, and more.
Moana 2 is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller from a screenplay co-written by Miller and Jared Bush. The original was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. It was not only a commercial success with a gross of over $600 million, but it also earned positive reviews from critics and earned two Oscar nominations including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
