Fans wish to know what happened to Rebecca Ferguson‘s Juliette after she ended up leaving the Silo. This curiosity arose because of how she underwent the Cleaning Ceremony. This ceremony involved people going above the Silo and cleaning the camera lens. It has traditionally killed those who had participated in it.
So, did Juliette die after leaving the Silo? Did she survive? Here is Juliette’s fate explored.
Did Juliette die after leaving the Silo?
Juliette did not die after leaving the Silo.
At the end of Season 1, Juliette, who is involved in a conspiracy to take over the Silo from the evil Judicial Branch, is forced into the Cleaning Ceremony after being arrested. Juliette, like many others who had partaken in the ceremony and died in its aftermath, such as Allison and ex-Sheriff Becker, goes above Silo to clean the camera lens that shows the outside world to Silo’s residents while wearing a hazmat suit to protect herself from the toxic air.
However, Juliette survives. She soon discovers the contents of the outside world. She finds a crater surrounding the silo, multiple other craters and silos, and a dilapidated city from far away.
It is eventually revealed that the people who had participated in the Cleaning Ceremony before Juliette were killed because their hazmat suits had faulty and malfunctioning seals, which rendered them vulnerable to the toxic air and poisoned them. The faulty seals were intentional on the part of the higher-ups in the Silo, who wished to get rid of rebels and opposers.
Juliette survived because her hazmat suit’s seal was in perfect condition. This was thanks to Martha Walker, Juliette’s friend and mother figure, whom she had helped in the past and for whom she was stockpiling tapes. Walker made a deal with someone working in supplies to ensure Juliette’s hazmat suit had a perfect seal.
Silo is currently streaming on Apple TV Plus.
