Fans are eager to learn what happened to Phyllis Summers in The Young and the Restless and if she will die in the series. Curiosity about the character’s fate arises after she recently met with a deadly car accident and was put in critical condition. Prior to this accident, Summers worked to expose her bitter rival Sharon Newman, as a suspect in Heather Stevens’ murder from last week.

Phyllis Summers likely will not die in The Young and the Restless.
As suggested by The Young and the Restless spoilers, Summer Newman is dissuaded from pulling the plug on the life support machine, keeping the unconscious Phyllis Summers alive, by Elena Dawson. Dawson urges Summer not to give up hope for her mother’s recovery. Thus, Phyllis will likely regain consciousness, recover, and help solve the mystery behind her accident and Stevens’ murder.
Phyllis first got involved in Heather Stevens’ murder case, following her son Daniel’s arrest by Detective Chance Chancellor, after he had been suspected of killing Stevens. This suspicion was due to the Chancellor finding blood-stained towels and Heather’s phone in Daniel’s house. Chancellor was unaware that the items he found, were evidence discarded by Sharon Newman.
Daniel later hired Phyllis’ rival Christine as his lawyer. This forced them to set aside their differences and work on handling Daniel’s trial.
Phyllis concluded that Sharon Newman was behind Heather Stevens’ murder. She reached that conclusion, by bringing up Newman’s strange and hostile behavior around her and Daniel, believing she still held grief and anger following Cassie Newman’s death.
Phyllis then makes multiple attempts at confronting Sharon and pressuring her into admitting that she killed Stevens. Phyllis later got a text. This text mentioned that she won and that she would get a confession regarding Heather Stevens’ murder. Phyllis got in her car to meet Sharon.
While driving, Phyllis texted Sharon, who also seemingly texted back. However, Phyllis was distracted and her car crashed after colliding with another vehicle. The crash took place outside the Newman Ranch, the site of Abby and Devon’s wedding. Nick Newman rescued Phyllis from the wreckage and admitted her to the hospital.
