Horizon: An American Saga’s Kevin Costner Gives Update on Chapter 3 & 4

From the looks of it, Kevin Costner’s brainchild, Horizon: An American Saga, is going to have future installments despite the low box office returns of the first film. Produced on a reported budget of $50 million budget, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 could only recoup a measly $33 million. As such, admirers of the franchise have understandably expressed concern regarding its future. Defying all odds, Kevin Costner recently reaffirmed his faith in the film series before giving updates on Horizon Chapters 3 and 4.

Kevin Costner adamant on making Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 3 and 4

The Yellowstone star has stated that while he is unsure of the specifics, he will make Horizon Chapters 3 and 4 in due time.

Kevin Costner provided his take on the fate of the American western epic four-part series during his recent appearance at Deadline Contenders Los Angeles. Talking about Horizon Chapter 3, he remarked, “I’m going to make 3.”

The two-time Academy Award winner then proceeded to shed light on the planned fourth part of the franchise. He stated, “I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but I’m going to make it, and then I’m going to make the fourth one. And if you want to say ’the end’ at that point, then that’s the end.”

Directed, written by, and starring Costner, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 hit theatres on June 28, 2024. Its direct sequel was then scheduled for an August 16, 2024, release. However, the first film’s disastrous run at the box office ultimately led to its delay. Chapter 2 eventually premiered in September at the Venice Film Festival.

Kevin Costner has already disclosed that Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 3 is presently in its production phase. Nevertheless, an official release schedule for the third installment and a subsequent fourth part currently remains unknown.
