Kraven the Hunter Video Previews Marvel Movie’s R-Rated Fight Sequences

Sony Pictures has shared a brand new Kraven the Hunter video for its newest Marvel movie starring Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 13.

“Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be,” reads the official synopsis. “Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff, starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”

What happens in the Kraven the Hunter video?

The video features Taylor-Johnson and director J.C. Chandor discussing what the audiences can expect from the movie, which they described as a “family saga” and a “gangster story.” It also highlights its R-rated fight sequences, which they filmed on real locations.

Kraven the Hunter is directed by Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer films), Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. The ensemble cast includes Taylor-Johnson as he takes on the mantle of the titular Spider-Man villain, a Russian immigrant named Sergei Kravinoff; Fred Hechinger (Fear Street Trilogy, The White Lotus) as Chameleon, Kraven’s half-brother; Oscar nominee Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) as Calypso, the occasion partner and lover of Kraven; and Russell Crowe and Levi Miller in undisclosed roles. Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola have also been tapped as the main villains.
