New iCarly Project ‘In the Works,’ Says Miranda Cosgrove

Carly Shay won’t be signing off anytime soon. Mother of the Bride star Miranda Cosgrove teased that a new iCarly project is “in the works.

iCarly ran for six seasons on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012 before Paramount+ picked it up for a series revival back in 2021. The streamer then ended the show abruptly after only three seasons, leaving viewers on quite the cliffhanger.

Though the revival left a cliffhanger unanswered with a sudden cancellation announcement, Cosgrove assured fans that they would be wrapping it up with a new project.

What did Miranda Cosgrove say about the next iCarly project?

During her appearance on The Talk (via Deadline), the actress talked about the potential iCarly movie, adding that fans will be “super excited.”

“I’m not allowed to 100% confirm anything yet but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works,” said Cosgrove.

Cosgrove also confirmed that the project will feature familiar fan favorites and that the show will revisit the cliffhanger, presumably answering the real deal between Carly Shay and her boyfriend Freddie (played by Nathan Kress).

“Yes, and we actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up,” she added.

In a previous interview with ET earlier this year, the actress shared her hopes for a potential continuation of Carly Shay’s story, saying, “Maybe, hopefully, someday, we’ll still do it. I feel like it would probably be more along the lines of maybe a movie, that would kind of wrap it all up or something like that. So that’s what I’m hoping for.”

The original series revolved around Carly Shay, a teenager trying to balance her teenage life and career as a host for a web show called iCarly. The Paramount+ revival then centered on Carly as she tries to relaunch her iCarly show.

“Ten years after signing off of one of TV’s most iconic shows, Carly, Spencer, and Freddie are back, navigating the next chapter of their lives, facing the uncertainties of life in their twenties,” the synopsis reads.

The Paramount+ reboot also starred Jerry Trainor as Spencer Shay, Mary Scheer as Marissa Benson, Laci Mosley as Harper, Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent, Jeremy Rowley as Lewbert, Patty Guggenheim as Tinsley, Poppy Liu as Double Dutch, and more.
