John Krasinski takes over the title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive
In an interview with People, shortly after being given the Sexiest Man Alive 2024 title by the magazine, Krasinski revealed that he was baffled and confused, when he first got the news.
“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts, other than maybe I’m being punked,” The Office star said. “That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”
Krasinski later said that his wife, actress Emily Blunt, was “very excited” when he told her about getting the title. Blunt once joked about putting the Sexiest Man Alive wallpaper of Krasinski on their house if he got the title. He also jokingly mentioned that getting the title would mean doing “more household chores.”
The IF filmmaker also opined that his brothers would keep wondering how Krasinski got the title for many years.
Fans had mixed reactions to Krasinski’s nomination. “I think it’s a solid choice! He’s got that whole nice guy vibe going on, plus he’s super talented,” wrote one fan on X (Twitter).
Another fan reacted more negatively. “John Krasinski being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024 is an absurd choice his appeal is vastly overrated.”
Other nominees for Sexiest Man Alive 2024 reportedly included Glen Powell, Jeremy Allen White, Pedro Pascal, and Ryan Reynolds.
Patrick Dempsey won People’s Sexiest Man Alive last year. Other notable celebrities who have received the title in recent years include Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, and Idris Elba.
