The latest update has provided a massive update on the latest signee ahead of the upcoming edition of WWE RAW. Reports surfaced a few days ago revealing that a legendary Anoa’i family member has officially joined WWE.
Lance Anoa’i, the son of Samu and nephew of Afa Jr., became part of WWE this summer. However, his debut was delayed due to an injury, leaving his status unconfirmed until now. Lance Anoa’i was a top star in MLW and requested his release last year, which WWE granted. Fans have eagerly awaited his arrival ever since.
For those unfamiliar with Lance Anoa’i, he appeared on WWE RAW in back in the year 2019. There, his cousin Roman Reigns saved him after Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre attacked him. While reports confirmed Lance Anoa’i’s WWE signing, the brand he would join had remained unclear all this while. Fortunately, the latest update has now clarified his status within the promotion.
Lance Anoa’i’s status confirmed with WWE NXT
The new reports were followed by the emergence of a photo showing him wearing NXT attire alongside other WWE Performance Center talent. His relative LA Smooth, also known as Lloyd Anoa’i, has since confirmed his status within NXT.
In a recent interview with Keeks and Squeaks, LA Smooth was asked which family member he would like to see signed by WWE. While talking about his relatives, he confirmed that Lance Anoa’i is currently part of NXT. He stated, “Jacob Fatu, my nephew, I was waiting for them to pick him up. I’m so blessed. My other nephew, Lance Anoa’i, he’s NXT right now…”
As of now, Lance Anoa’i is out with an injury. Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see what plans the promotion has for him on NXT once he is cleared to compete.
