Channing Tatum is not confirmed to return in a solo MCU Gambit movie, as of writing.
In a recent appearance on Entertainment Weekly‘s Awardist podcast, Ryan Reynolds revealed that Marvel was “obsessed” with Channing Tatum’s Gambit. But, he admitted not knowing what the studio was actually planning to do with the character. Thus, it’s possible that Marvel might be considering making a Gambit film or a Disney+ series.
Reynolds earlier praised Channing Tatum’s performance in Deadpool & Wolverine on Instagram, admitting that he wanted to see more of the character.
Even Tatum is hopeful that a solo Gambit movie can be made. “I sure hope so,” he told Variety, adding, “From your mouth to God’s ears. Write it into existence, my friend. Please.” Further, he stressed that the future of a solo Gambit film would now be determined by Bob Iger and Kevin Feige.
Will Channing Tatum’s Gambit return in MCU’s X-Men movie?
Tatum’s Gambit is not confirmed to return in the MCU’s rumored X-Men movie either as of now.
However, considering how Marvel is seemingly interested in the character, there is a possibility that they could be planning to include him in the project. Moreover, they could also be considering adding him to other crossover or team-up films like Avengers: Secret Wars.
