Recent reports reveal that key figures on WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H’s team are currently on leave. Triple H assumed the role of Chief Content Officer after Vince McMahon stepped away from the promotion.
McMahon’s shocking retirement followed a scandal involving hush money payments. Although McMahon briefly returned to WWE in 2023, his comeback ended in early 2024 after former employee Janel Grant accused him of sexual misconduct. This lawsuit forced McMahon to step down from the board and sell his remaining shares.
With Vince McMahon’s exit, Triple H took over creative control and brought significant changes to the promotion. Fans have witnessed improvements in WWE’s product over the past several years, resulting in stronger storylines, higher ratings, and better fan attendance at the shows.
Triple H leads a team that includes long-time WWE employee Bruce Prichard and Michael Hayes. Prichard serves as Executive Director for both WWE RAW and SmackDown. Meanwhile, Hayes plays a crucial role in WWE’s creative team as the Vice President of creative writing & booking and a senior producer.
Prichard and Hayes are both veterans of the professional wrestling industry. They have long been key figures backstage in the promotion. However, according to the latest reports, both are on leave from the promotion.
Bruce Prichard & Michael Hayes take temporary leave from WWE
Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported that Bruce Prichard and Michael Hayes are on temporary leave from WWE. Their absence is expected to be indefinite. Prichard is on leave due to a family emergency, while Hayes is taking time off for personal reasons.
Meltzer also mentioned that although both key figures are on leave at the same time, there is no direct connection between their absences. This is not part of a move to push out the old guard from the promotion. While there is no major change happening behind the scenes, some might speculate both Prichard and Hayes will return to their respective roles soon.
