Award-winning couple Kevin Bacon (MaXXXine) and Kyra Sedgwick (The Best You Can) have officially found their next project: a horror movie titled Family Movie. Bacon and Sedgwick will co-star and co-direct the upcoming project after starring in multiple movies such as 1988’s Lemon Sky, 1991’s Pyrates, 2004’s The Woodsman, 2004’s Cavedweller, and more.
“As cameras roll on their next low-budget slasher, an eclectic but tight knit family of filmmakers suddenly find themselves in a real-life horror movie when a body turns up on set,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “As the production spirals comically out of control, they realize the only solution to keep filming is to cover up the murder, by any means necessary…”
Who will join Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick in Family Movie?
Besides the power couple, Family Movie will also star their children, Travis Bacon (Weekend Deadaway) and Sosie Bacon (Smile), who have also signed on to produce the movie. This comes after Sosie Bacon recently made her feature-length directing debut with the comedy movie What We Got Wrong, which she also starred in. It is written by scribe Dan Beers, with Bacon, Sedgwick, and Norman Golightly also set as producers. The film hails from Mixed Breed Films, Dark Castle Entertainment, and Neon International.
“There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons. We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.” Dark Castle Entertainment executive Norman Golightly said in a statement.
