The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp recently announced via a social media post that she was getting a divorce from her husband of many years, Edwin Arroyave. Mellencamp confirmed she filed for divorce in a recent Instagram post. Here, she also expressed that the decision to divorce involved a lot of care and consideration. Mellencamp added that her children were her priority and affirmed that she publicly announced the decision to divorce so as not to make way for rumors and speculation.
However, as of this writing, Edwin Arroyave has not commented on the divorce or posted about it on his social media.
This announcement comes just three months after Mellencamp and Arroyave celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Instagram. It also happened mere days after the couple attended the Cure Melanoma gala together. Arroyave had posted a series of photos expressing pride in Mellencamp’s efforts to raise awareness about and help cure melanoma.
In two separate interviews, Mellencamp had previously opened up about the struggles in her and Arroyave’s marriage. The first was in a March 2023 appearance on Two Is a Pod podcast, where she confirmed contemplating divorce and expressed how she began hating Arroyave. Arroyave backed Mellencamp’s statements on their marriage struggles by sharing his belief that he expected to split from her after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 8 wrapped filming, even taking the blame for their marriage problems.
The second was in an October 2023 Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen interview, where she expressed how her marriage with Arroyave suffered immensely in her first year as a housewife.
