Snoop Dogg recently opened up about his upcoming album. While he talked about the tracks from the album that are highly anticipated, he shared with the audience, how much he admires the Planet of the Apes.

The 53-year-old rapper told Variety, “I can’t really give up the storyline, but I’m going to [share] the idea.” Dogg stated how he was not happy with the time gap between the recently released 4th movie of the franchise, Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. It came into theaters in 2024 after its predecessor, which was released in 2017.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which takes place years after Caesar’s rule, became an instant hit among the masses after releasing in May 2024. It reportedly had a budget of $160 million and earned $397 million at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo.

Snoop Dogg criticized this time gap and announced he is working on a movie, but it carries a surprising twist. He added, “‘Planet of the Apes’ made me wait too long to see the next one. So I’m going to do something in that vein, where you don’t have to wait. But just imagine it was dogs instead of apes.”
