Grace explained that she caused the bombings to prevent Scotland from gaining independence. She added that Russia got their hands on nuclear submarines their technology could not detect and that Scotland needed to house their own missiles, which could detect Russian weapons before any assault even occurred. Moreover, Grace also wanted to prevent Scotland’s independence as she was worried about the US losing its naval and missile base there.
Hal Wyler tried to expose Grace’s role in the London bombings to the US President, only to fail as the President died soon after. Because of this, Grace gets the last laugh and becomes the US President.
