New Version of Blade Makes MCU Debut in Marvel Zombies Series Video

A new version of Blade appears in a video promoting the upcoming Marvel Zombies series.

Marvel Zombies is a new series from Marvel Animation that arrives in October 2025. A spin-off to the zombie-focused What If…? episode from season one of the anthology series, the TV-MA show is directed by Bryan Andrews and written by Zeb Wells.

Marvel has released a video highlighting a number of the upcoming Disney+ series, including Marvel Zombies. In the video, there’s a brief glimpse that gives fans a look at a new version of Blade who is donning some Moon Knight-like armor.

It’s not immediately clear if Mahershala Ali will voice the character of Blade in Marvel Zombies.

What else do we know about Marvel Zombies?

Along with Blade, Marvel Zombies will feature Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan. The series will also feature iterations of Hawkeye, Captain America, Kate Bishop, Wanda Maximoff, Red Guardian, Captain Marvel, Yelena Belova, and more.

Marvel Studios’ Brad Winderbaum previously told IGN about the series, “In terms of more mature animation, yeah, we’re making a Marvel Zombies show right now that is pretty intense that’s for sure a TV-MA show. And again, it’s trying to honor the comics. And what was so great about the comics was it not pulling its punches. That’s certainly what we’re going for on that project also.”

It was announced in 2019 that Ali would play the titular character in an MCU Blade reboot. While Ali’s voice is heard at the end of 2021’s Eternals, Ali still has not played the character in live-action as of yet as the project has faced repeated delays. It was recently removed from Marvel’s calendar and the film does not have a release date at this time.
