Here is the explanation for Kelly Ripa’s apology to Taylor Swift.

For their upcoming show’s Halloween Special, Kelly Ripa and her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos based their outfits on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, respectively. They donned outfits similar to those worn by Swift and Kelce while attending the 2024 US Open. Ripa and Consuelos intended to recreate the iconic look when the “All Too Well” singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight-end were seen singing “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness at the event.
However, Ripa felt she did not do justice to Swift’s look from the 2024 US Open. “Nobody gives less Taylor vibes than me,” she told USA Today. Ripa then pointed out how Swift has appeared on their show many times over the years and was truly “charming, divine, and delightful,” like fans had always believed her to be.
Ripa also stressed how she could not “capture the essence” of Taylor Swift’s appearance at the 2024 US Open, but affirmed doing her best to not “embarrass” the music superstar.
Meanwhile, Mark Consuelos also revealed that he had difficulty managing the mustache he sported to resemble Kelce. He confirmed he had not yet met Travis Kelce, but shared his belief that the Kansas City Chiefs player was a “great guy” and a “funny” person. Consuelos also speculated on how Kelce could react upon seeing him dressed up as the football star for Halloween, saying he might say, “Who’s that short guy trying to come off as me?”
Additionally, the married couple and co-hosts revealed having to stand on boxes to resemble the power couple due to their height differences with Swift and Kelce.
