ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive track by Alex Baranowski from the Midas Man soundtrack. The track, titled “Bigger Than Jesus,” honors the legacy of subject Brian Epstein by mixing jazz and avant-garde classical music. The biopic on the Beatles manager starring Jacob Fortune-Lloyd is now streaming on Prime Video in the UK, and Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack this Friday, November 1.
Baranowski is best known for scoring films and television shows, such as The Kitchen, Rain Dogs, The Windermere Children, Staged, and True Things. He was also nominated for a Tony Award for the Broadway production of Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan. He’s collaborated with Oscar-winner Danny Boyle and Grammy winner Labrinth.

“Brian Epstein and George Martin were a pairing that produced some of the most iconic British records of the 60s,” said Baranowski. “How would a film score sound if George Martin was still producing now? Much of the score was recorded to analog tape, with orchestration inspired by jazz and avant-garde classical using tape loops and vintage microphones. Combined with modern recording and mixing techniques, my concept for the score from the beginning was to be very much inspired by the work of Brian and George whilst still creating something original for today.”
