UFC’s Conor McGregor Hints at Confronting WWE Champion Cody Rhodes

UFC fighter Conor McGregor recently hinted at confronting Cody Rhodes. For years, fans have wondered what would happen if UFC fighter Conor McGregor stepped into the WWE ring.

Cody Rhodes, currently preparing for his upcoming match against Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel 2024, recently appeared on YouTuber The Schmo’s show. During the interview, he was asked which superstar he would like to see crossover into WWE. Rhodes mentioned UFC fighter Conor McGregor. He stated that it might be a good time for the latter to explore the entertainment aspect of sports.

The WWE Undisputed Champion stated, “I’ll say that one person I’d love to see just dip his toes in the WWE would be Conor McGregor…The competition environment at WWE is different from what people might expect — it’s so much about who’s the most disciplined, the most professional, getting to the finish line, making it to a WrestleMania.”

On McGregor’s skill, Rhodes remarked, “Someone like him, who’s competed at the highest level in so many incredible fights, maybe it’s time to explore the more entertainment side of sports. I think he’d be great at it.”

Amidst Cody Rhodes’ recent comments, UFC’s Conor McGregor hinted at a potential showdown with the WWE Undisputed Champion.

Conor McGregor to Cody Rhodes: ‘See you soon’

While promoting WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Cody Rhodes appeared on The Schmo’s show. During their conversation, they sampled Conor McGregor’s whiskey brand, Proper Twelve, which Cody praised as “that’s class.”

This prompted Conor to tweet the video, hinting at a possible confrontation while promoting his whiskey. He commented on the clip, expressing his admiration for Cody and suggesting they would see each other soon.

Rhodes responded to McGregor’s tweet with a friendly toast. It will be exciting to see if Rhodes and McGregor’s paths cross in the future, especially now that WWE and UFC are both under the same parent company, TKO Group Holdings.
