Speculation surrounding former Divas Champion AJ Lee’s return has surged since her husband, CM Punk, returned to WWE. He made his comeback last year at Survivor Series: WarGames in his hometown of Chicago.
CM Punk’s return to WWE generated significant buzz in the professional wrestling world due to their tumultuous history. Although many believed Punk’s return was unlikely, he made a surprising comeback after his controversial tenure in AEW ended. He was fired from the promotion due to a backstage fight with Jack Perry at AEW All In.
Since CM Punk’s return to WWE, he has given multiple shout-outs to his wife, AJ Lee, during his promos. Lee, a former WWE Divas Champion, retired from professional wrestling in 2015 after her last match on WWE RAW.
Recently, several new-generation WWE women’s stars have expressed interest in facing AJ Lee. These rising stars are eager to step into the ring with her. Recently, NXT Superstar Cora Jade shared that she, Roxanne Perez, and CM Punk are actively working to persuade AJ Lee to return to WWE.
Cora Jade reveals CM Punk is working to convince AJ Lee for a WWE return
CM Punk maintains a close relationship with WWE NXT stars Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez, both of whom affectionately refer to him as their “wrestling dad.” His wife, former WWE star AJ Lee, has also jokingly called them her daughters.
Recently, Cora Jade appeared on TV Insider and shared her aspirations for AJ Lee’s return. She mentioned that she and Roxanne Perez are consistently urging CM Punk for Lee’s comeback. Jade also highlighted that Punk is making efforts to bring her back as well. She stated, “I hope so. I’m working on it. Me and Roxy are always badgering him about it. I know he is doing it to her as well, so we’ll see. If it happens, you’ll have to thank me.”
Even Women’s World Heavyweight Champion Liv Morgan expressed her desire to face AJ Lee. Recently, Morgan revealed that she hopes to team up with Dominik Mysterio to take on CM Punk and AJ Lee next year at SummerSlam.
