A recent report states that Stephen Amell has joined the cast of Underbelly, that too as the main protagonist.

According to Deadline, Amell is going to portray the role of Officer Henry Roland. He takes off on a quest to safeguard the life of his best pal, Hamza Haq’s character, Tommy Hawley. The latter gets embroiled in a case related to missing illegal things. Amid this chaos, Minnie Driver’s character, May Ferguson, is also tailing behind the missing cargo and Hawley.

The series is going to be filmed at the United States-Canada border, in the landscape of 1000 Islands. Meanwhile, the production is helmed by Shaftesbury in partnership with Fifth Season, who will handle the distribution. Additionally, the script of the show will be penned by Graeme Stewart and Aaron Martin.

She told the outlet, “We are delighted to be working with Fifth Season and Bell Media/Crave with a cast led by Stephen Amell, Minnie Driver, Hamza Haq and Tamara Podemski.” Jennings also expressed her admiration for the location where Underbelly will be filmed and said, “It is the perfect setting for this returnable crime series.”
