Reports from NBC News indicate that Weinstein is undergoing treatment for this rare form of bone marrow cancer while serving his sentence at New York’s Rikers Island. His legal healthcare representative, Craig Rothfeld declined to provide further details, emphasizing the importance of respecting Weinstein’s privacy.
The statement read, “Craig Rothfeld, Mr. Weinstein’s authorized legal healthcare representative in New York State, expresses profound dismay at the speculation surrounding Mr. Weinstein’s medical condition. It is both troubling and unacceptable that such private and confidential health matters have become a subject of public discourse.
