Why Tracker’s Justin Hartley left The Young and the Restless

Tracker’s Justin Hartley left The Young and the Restless to explore new career opportunities.

Hartley joined the cast of the popular series in 2014. His troubled character, Adam Newman, quickly resonated with fans thanks to the brilliant writing and Hartley’s acting chops. Adam faced numerous ups and downs in his journey. He got arrested after being falsely accused by Chloe of poisoning Constance Bingham. However, Adam managed to escape from prison with the help of Victor and decided to flee with his loved ones.

Additionally, he faked Gabriel Bingham’s identity and attempted to stay in touch with Chelsea and their kid, Connor. However, his happiness was short-lived, with his life in danger. Chloe managed to track him down, who was burning with the revenge for Delia’s death. She knocked him unconscious with a tranquilizer and left him to face a brutal death in a cabin explosion. The DNA proved substantial to prove his death, and thus, Adam Newman’s presumed death brought an end to Hartley’s stints on the series.

While fans could not recover from Adam’s presumed tragic death, Hartley took to his social media to confirm his departure. He explained that the reason behind his leaving The Young and Restless was a new career opportunity. Hartley left the series to play one of the leads in NBC‘s drama series This is Us. Following Justin Hartley’s exit, Mark Grossman stepped into the shoes of Adam Newman

The Young and the Restless airs on CBS.
