Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton has responded to Kevin Owens‘ brutal attack on WWE SmackDown. Tensions have been building between Owens and Cody Rhodes for the past few weeks, with the former clearly unhappy about Rhodes’ decision to team up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood 2024.
After Bad Blood, Owens snapped and launched a backstage attack on Rhodes. Last week on SmackDown, he came into ring and grabbed a microphone. Owens then expressed his frustrations, disclosing that WWE had suspended and fined him for his actions against Rhodes.
As Owens ranted, Cody Rhodes confronted him. Backstage officials quickly intervened to prevent a fight. Randy Orton then stepped in to calm the situation, urging Rhodes to stay clam while attempting the same with Owens. In response, Owens struck Orton with a back elbow, which led Orton to retaliate with a punch that knocked Owens leaving him shocked and furious.
The night wasn’t over, as later in the show, a furious Owens attacked Orton backstage. The General Manager of SmackDown had to intervene to stop the assault. It’s clear that Owens finally lost his cool, deciding to attack his friends Rhodes and Orton. Now, Orton, unhappy with the situation, has sent a message to Owens.
Randy Orton to Kevin Owens: “I’m coming for ya”
During a recent live event in the UK as part of the WWE tour, Randy Orton addressed Kevin Owens regarding his attack on SmackDown. Orton emphasized that once he returns to the United States, he intends to confront Owens and settle the score. He stated, “Hey Owens, once I get back to the States, once I get back across the pond, I’m coming for ya, and I’m whippin’ your a–. You got one comin’.”
With Randy Orton clearly expressing his intentions to pursue Kevin Owens, the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown is sure to be very exciting.
