“Monsterland is looking fierce! Roam the streets with monstrously fashionable flair, and don’t forget to bring along our exclusive Godzilla full-size backpack featuring original artwork by artist Florian Bertmer,” the product description reads. “The artwork originates from Mondo’s exclusive screenprinted Destroy All Monsters poster from SDCC 2023. In addition to the visual details, which include red embroidered letters in Japanese characters, this backpack also comes with its own sound effects. A mechanism allows you to play a signature roar-screech to announce your arrival. In the dark, portions of the outlines of the monsters and their rays glow. Elements of the artwork on the side panels glow as well. Pack everything you need to spend the day taking in—or on—the sights.”

Mondo’s Peter Santa-Maria, also known as Attack Peter, “The ONLY thing more exciting and rewarding than creating original art based on our favorite films and shows is SHARING that creation with as many people as possible! That’s why we here at Mondo were so stoked to be able to team up with the brilliant brains behind the best bags in the business at LOUNGEFLY! Our friends there have such incredible taste that when they saw Florian Bertmer’s artwork on Mondo’s SDCC 2023 exclusive screen print for Destroy All Monsters, they asked us if they could develop a bag around it. As a huge Loungefly fan myself, I was so happy to see our first collaboration executed so exquisitely. Folks are going to love this thing and I personally can’t wait to get one for myself!”

Bertmer added, “It’s absolutely surreal to see my Destroy All Monsters artwork transformed into a backpack, especially knowing that one day my own kids will be wearing it to school There’s something incredibly special about seeing my art come full circle, from creation to something they’ll carry with them every day.”
