Update on Bobby Lashley’s Status Following AEW WrestleDream 2024

A status update on former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley has arrived following AEW WrestleDream 2024. Lashley, who left WWE at SummerSlam, has reportedly signed a contract with AEW. Many expected his debut to take place at AEW WrestleDream 2024. However, nothing materialized during the show this past weekend in Tacoma, Washington.

Bobby Lashley, who reportedly signed with AEW, was a former member of The Hurt Business along with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. Both the stars have already arrived in the promotion. MVP approached Prince Nana, giving him Swerve Strickland’s business card and criticizing Nana for not managing Strickland effectively.

At AEW WrestleDream, MVP and Benjamin interrupted former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland’s segment with Prince Nana. During the show, MVP and Strickland finally came face to face. However, in a surprising moment, Strickland rejected MVP’s offer and chose to side with his manager Prince Nana, leading to a heated confrontation between him, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin.

Many expected Lashley to show up during this segment, but he did not. According to a report from Fightful Select behind paywall, AEW officials decided against having two significant hometown beatdowns in one show, as the show also featured a beatdown of the home state hero Bryan Danielson in the main event. The report clarified that Lashley was also not spotted backstage at AEW WrestleDream 2024.

Bobby Lashley expected to arrive in AEW soon

While fans eagerly anticipated former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley’s debut at AEW WrestleDream 2024, it did not happen. However, the promotion hinted at Lashley’s imminent arrival, which could occur in the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite.

AEW shared an interview from backstage at WrestleDream 2024, confirming that Lio Rush had signed again with the promotion. However, his interview was cut short when MVP and Shelton Benjamin interrupted him. During their exchange, MVP asked Rush if he was available for a match on Wednesday. Rush confirmed his availability, leading MVP to mention he would speak to Tony Khan.

After this confrontation, many fans speculate that MVP is setting up a match for Lio Rush this Wednesday on Dynamite. Rush’s possible opponent could be none other than Bobby Lashley, who might make his debut this week. Only time will reveal who Lio Rush’s opponent will be on Dynamite.
