Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 Ending Explained: Who Are JJ’s Parents?
JJ Maybank presumes Luke is his biological father, embarking on a mission to seek him in the final moments. He learns about Luke being with Barracuda Mike and reaches the lighthouse. Then comes the unexpected confession moment, wherein Luke reveals that he is not JJ’s biological parent. Moreover, he also reveals that his mother is fake.
He names his real parents as deceased Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff. Explaining why JJ ended up with him, Luke opens up by saying that before Larissa’s demise, she wanted to protect her child from any potential danger. So, she ended up giving JJ to Luke, considering that he was in safe hands. Unfortunately, he wasn’t safe, given how Luke treated him poorly. Nevertheless, this revelation indicates that JJ is a kook.
