Tetris Forever Collects More Than 15 Classic Games Spanning 4 Decades

Digital Eclipse revealed Tetris Forever on Thursday, the latest in their ongoing Gold Master Series of documentary games, which features a large collection of Tetris games, some of which have never been released in the U.S.

When does Tetris Forever come out?

Tetris Forever is set to release later this year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No official date has been announced as of yet.

Originally announced in a brief teaser at the most recent Nintendo Direct in August, Tetris Forever will collect more than 15 games from the franchise spanning over 40 years of its history. These include several games that are making their debut outside of Japan for the first time, as well as a faithful recreation of the first Tetris.

Similar to past Gold Master Series games, Tetris Forever will also include an interactive timeline of Tetris’ history, as well as 90 minutes of all-new documentary featurettes on the franchise, produced by Area 5, who has done other “making of” content for video games in the past.

Alongside the 13 classic games, a brand new game to the series, Tetris Time Warp, fully developed by Digital Eclipse, will be included in Tetris Forever. Tetris Time Warp will include a “mix of graphics, playstyles, and mechanics in real-time,” according to the developer.
