Has SEAL Team been canceled or renewed for season 8?
In November 2023, it was officially announced that SEAL Team would end with its seventh season.
Paramount Plus confirmed that the series, which has followed the gripping lives of the BRAVO team, would not be moving forward with SEAL Team Season 8. Additionally, a planned standalone film based on the show was also canceled. Fans were disappointed, but it seems the creators felt it was time to wrap up the storylines.
In an interview with TV Insider, David Boreanaz, who plays Jason Hayes, explained why the show was coming to an end. He said, “So starting the season it was like, okay, this is the perfect way to wrap that cycle up for this character. For me, I knew that that was the right way and I knew going in before the writers’ strike that I was done. I had expressed my interest not to do the show anymore. I was finished regardless of even if they wanted to do two more seasons, one more season, I was done. So then the writers’ strike hit and it became six months later and that had already been decided. So we were able though to get this last season in to help complete that cycle for him.”
The finale of SEAL Team Season 7 left many fans with questions. Episode 10 hints that Jason is stepping away from the BRAVO team, accepting a new role as the Head of Warfighter Health at DEVGRU. However, in a surprising twist, it is Ray who actually resigns, leaving Bravo and taking the position.
