Abbott Elementary Season 4 to Feature an It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Crossover

Ahead of its return on October 9, it has been revealed that Abbott Elementary Season 4 will be featuring a crossover episode with long-time FX comedy It’s Always Sunny in the Philadelphia. This crossover was actually first teased by the cast of the acclaimed ABC sitcom, during the recent 2024 San Diego Comic-Con.

In the photo, McElhenney, Day and Devito are joined by Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams and Mr. Johnson.

Who is involved in Abbott Elementary Season 4?

Abbott Elementary is a workplace comedy created and executive produced by Brunson, who is also leading the cast as Janine Teagues. The sitcom also stars Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson, and Emmy Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard. For its third season, the show earned nine Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

“In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life,” reads the series’ synopsis. “Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.”
