What Happened to Joe Musgrove? MLB Injury Update

Joe Musgrove‘s recent injury has left fans concerned about his future. As details continue to emerge, the impact of this injury on his performance and the upcoming matches remains uncertain. Now, fans are curious to know what happened.

In this article, we will discuss Joe Musgrove’s injury and when he might return to MLB action.

How did Joe Musgrove get injured playing baseball?

During the Padres’ National League wild-card series against the Atlanta Braves at Petco Park, Joe Musgrove exited the game with right elbow tightness. The Padres were leading 5-1 with two outs when Musgrove threw consecutive curveballs to Matt Olson. Following the pitches, Musgrove visibly shook his right arm, prompting a visit from catcher Kyle Higashioka and pitching coach Ruben Niebla. Soon after, manager Mike Shildt and Padres athletic trainer Ben Fraser rushed to the mound, and Musgrove was pulled from the game.

Musgrove, who struck out four batters and gave up one run on one hit and no walks over 3 2/3 innings, had dealt with elbow inflammation twice during the regular season. This includes a two-month stint on the injured list. With the new flare-up, Musgrove is now scheduled for an MRI to determine the seriousness of the injury. Though the Padres went on to win the game 5-4, Musgrove’s status remains a major concern for the team.

When will Joe Musgrove return to play MLB?

There has been no official announcement regarding when Joe Musgrove will return to play after his injury. However, the MLB player is scheduled for an MRI.

After the game, Musgrove expressed uncertainty about his injury. He said, “I don’t know what the future looks like for me right now. But I know I’m going to give it every chance I have, and I’ll do whatever I have to do to get back in here at some point.” (via Reuters)
