What Did Jill Stein Say About Kamala Harris? Statement Explained

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is shaking up the 2024 election by targeting Vice President Kamala Harris support base in key swing states. Stein claims Harris has lost crucial backing from Muslim and Arab Americans due to the Democrats’ stance on Israel, which could impact the race significantly.

Here’s a closer look at Stein’s strategy and its potential effect on the election outcome.

Jill Stein’s statement about Kamala Harris explained

In an interview with Newsweek, Jill Stein declared that Kamala Harris “cannot win” the 2024 election, citing the loss of support from Muslim and Arab Americans in key swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin.

According to Stein, the Democrats’ steadfast support for Israel in its conflicts with Hamas and Hezbollah has alienated these communities. “The Democrats cannot win without the support of the Muslim American community. And that community has left the station,” she said, accusing the party of enabling what she calls “genocide” in Gaza.

Stein’s campaign has gained support from Muslim voters. A CAIR poll shows her leading Harris, with 40% of Muslim voters backing Stein against Harris’ 12% in Michigan, where Muslim voters are a significant part of the electorate. Stein noted that while Democrats could change their stance to win back these voters, they seem unwilling. This effectively means they are “sacrificing several swing states.”

The Green Party candidate’s platform focuses on stopping U.S. arms sales to Israel and advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. Stein believes her anti-Israel stance resonates strongly with Muslim and Arab Americans, whom she views as key “allies” in her campaign. She also criticized Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Stein called for Blinken’s impeachment for saying “Israel was purposefully not disrupting humanitarian aid” and lying to Congress.

Stein dismissed accusations that she is a “spoiler” candidate aiding Trump. Instead, she positions her campaign as a necessary alternative to the Democrats and Republicans. “Democracy is about political choices,” Stein stated. She emphasized that her growing support poses a critical challenge for Harris, especially in battleground states that are crucial for victory.

Ultimately, Stein’s campaign has positioned itself as a key contender among voters dissatisfied with both Harris and Trump, particularly on the issue of U.S. foreign policy toward Israel. Whether her efforts will significantly impact the election outcome remains to be seen.
