WWE Superstar Gunther Throws Shade at Ilja Dragunov’s Injury

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther sent a message to former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov after his injury. During the latest edition of RAW, commentator Joe Tessitore announced that Dragunov got injured during a match against Gunther over the weekend.

The broadcast showed a video from their recent bout, which took place on September 28 in Columbus, Georgia. Tessitore revealed that WWE medical staff informed him that Dragunov likely tore his ACL. Following the update, WWE announced that Dragunov’s absence could extend up to six to nine months.

Earlier this year, Ilja Dragunov made a strong impression on the main roster, but his run has not met fan expectations. Despite his decent performance, he now faces a lengthy absence from the ring. Meanwhile, Gunther has chosen to mock the news of Dragunov’s injury.

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther faced Ilja Dragunov over the weekend, resulting in Dragunov suffering a significant injury. After the announcement, Gunther took to X (formerly Twitter) to mock Dragunov, writing, “weak things break,” in response to the injury news.

WWE NXT fans have enjoyed the hard-hitting contests between Gunther and Ilja Dragunov. Although they have battled each other multiple times at live events, they have not yet faced off on WWE television or in a premium live event.

While Dragunov will be out of action for an extended period, Gunther is preparing to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Sami Zayn next week on RAW. It will be exciting to see what unfolds next week, as Sami Zayn is the only superstar apart from Dragunov who has pinned Gunther in WWE.
