Yes, The Wild Robot Has a Post-Credits Scene: Explained

The Wild Robot‘s post-credits scenes have been the subject of discussion among fans. Many are wondering if staying back for a few extra moments after the credits is worth the buzz and what exactly happens at the end of the Lupita Nyong’o movie.

Here’s all the information you need about The Wild Robot post-credits scene.

How many end, mid, or post-credits scenes does The Wild Robot have?

The Wild Robot includes one post-credits scene at the end of the film.

The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, an Academy Award winner, lending her voice to the character of Roz. The story portrays her character as a cheerful and resourceful robot who unexpectedly ends up stranded on an island, facing the challenging role of motherhood.

In a conversation with NBC Insider, Nyong’o shared some insights on how the experience of creating an animated film contrasts sharply with that of a live-action project. She said, “I like the different challenges that the different mediums give me.”

The actress further continued, “So in animation, all you have is your voice, and you get to use your body to create the most dimensional voice you can I learned so much about my voice in the process, and I was able to, you know, contort my body in all sorts of crazy ways to achieve the vocal quality I wanted.”

What happens in The Wild Robot’s post-credits scene?

In the post-credit scene, we see Fink the Fox, voiced by Pedro Pascal, and Paddler the Beaver, voiced by Matt Berry. Both work together to plant a sapling following the film’s events. Their intentions are noble. But they soon face some playful ridicule from another animal who comments on the tiny size of their tree. To discover who this critter is, fans will need to stick around until the very end of the movie.

However, in the earlier part of the film, it was evident that both animals Fink and Paddler exhibited anti-social and aggressive behaviors, particularly towards each other. Thanks to Roz’s kindness and influence which played a pivotal role in transforming them. Through her guidance, they evolved into more empathetic creatures, capable of extending their newfound compassion to others.

The fun doesn’t end there. Throughout the film, there are several rapid-fire moments where characters get hit with a rock, bringing laughter to our faces. One memorable instance is when the gag is repeated, this time featuring a squirrel taking a hit from a rock.

This uplifting and cheerful post-credit scene may be brief, but it’s not the sole reason to linger through the credits. The stunning animation featuring a variety of animals and natural landscapes at the end is truly remarkable, especially considering that every cartoon character displayed was meticulously hand-painted mentioned by the director.

The Wild Robot releases in theaters on September 27.
