Top 3 Most Watched Movies on Netflix in 2024 So Far Revealed

The top three most-watched movies so far in 2024 on Netflix has been revealed.

Netflix has released data revealing the most-watched films on the streaming platform for the first half of 2024. The previous six-month period prior to this was led by the Julia Roberts-starring Leave the World Behind, which was released in October 2023.

What are the three most-watched movies on Netflix in 2024 so far?

Per Deadline, the most-watched movie for the first half of 2024 is Damsel starring Millie Bobby Brown. The film has been viewed over 143 million times around the world, with 35.3 million of the views coming within the first three days of its release.

Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Damsel was released on Netflix in March 2024. Along with Brown, the fantasy epic stars Ray Winstone, Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Nick Robinson, and more.

“A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive,” the synopsis reads.

The second most-watched movie on Netflix is F. Gary Gray’s Lift, which was released in January. The heist comedy movie stars Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jean Reno, and Sam Worthington. It was viewed 129 million times globally.

“A professional thief and his expert crew attempt the ultimate heist: stealing $500 million in gold from a vault on a plane — 40,000 feet in the air,” the synopsis for Lift reads.

In third place is J.A. Bayona’s Society of the Snow, which was released in early January and was nominated for Best International Feature Film and Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 96th Academy Awards. It stars Enzo Vogrincic, Matías Recalt, Agustín Pardella, and more.

“In 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which had been chartered to fly a rugby team to Chile, crashed in the heart of the Andes,” reads the synopsis. “Only 29 of its 45 passengers survived the accident. Trapped in one of the most hostile and inaccessible environments on the planet, they have to resort to extreme measures to stay alive.”

As far as non-Netflix originals, The Super Mario Bros. Movie received 80 million views, Minions had 72 million views, and The Boss Baby had 63 million.
