Speak No Evil 2024 Ending leaves audiences in shock with its twisted narrative and disturbing final moments. The psychological horror film, a remake of the 2022 Danish original, follows the Dalton family as they visit new acquaintances and encounter a nightmare they never anticipated. With chilling deaths and a dramatic twist, fans of the original are left wondering how the remake differs from its predecessor, who died, and who ultimately survives the horror.
Here is everything you need to know about who dies and who is the killer in Speak No Evil.
Who dies at the end of 2024’s Speak No Evil?
Ben Dalton (Scoot McNairy), Louise Dalton (Mackenzie Davis), and Agnes Dalton (Alix West Lefler) meet Paddy (James McAvoy), Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), and their purported son Ant (Dan Hough) during vacation and agrees to visit their home. What starts as a seemingly innocent visit to their countryside home takes a dark turn when the Daltons learn the truth about their hosts.
Ant reveals to Agnes that Paddy and Ciara are not his real parents. The couple plans to repeat this horrific act with the Daltons They killed his real parents, mutilated him by cutting off his tongue, and forced him to pretend to be their child. And they intend to do the same to the Dalton family.
Eventually, during a confrontation, Louise kills Ciara and Paddy’s accomplice, Mike (Kris Hichen). Paddy captures Agnes, but the latter injects him with drugs. After he collapses on the ground, Ben points a loaded gun at him but decides not to shoot. However, Ant picks up a stone and smashes Paddy’s head with it repeatedly, killing him. At the end of Speak No Evil, he leaves with the Dalton family.
This is where the 2024 remake differs from the 2022 original movie. There, Patrick and Karin (the movie’s version of Paddy and Ciara) survive, cut off Agnes’ (same name in both movies) tongue, and take her on their next vacation as their child to find another target.
Why does Ant Kill Paddy in Speak No Evil (2024)?
Ant suffered an insurmountable amount of trauma and tragedy in Paddy’s hands. He lost his family, his ability to speak, and perhaps his entire childhood. While Ben can afford to be magnanimous with a helpless Paddy as he ultimately didn’t lose a family member, that isn’t the case with Ant. If anything, killing Paddy likely brings him a sense of closure.
