As fans are aware, Kevin Costner who played John Dutton was announced not to be part of Season 5’s second half. While John’s death looked inevitable in the series, fans were looking forward to seeing how the track unfolds. He was about to appear for an impeachment hearing but things went upside down when his daughter Beth could not connect with him. Soon, there is blood splattered on the wall, and the cops declare John dead.
Further, Jamie announces his father’s death in a press conference. He also reveals that his father committed suicide as the gunshot looked self-caused with the weapon lying next to the body. Viewers started speculating that Jamie might have killed his father due to their conflict. Some even felt that Beth might be the killer but it looked unlikely as she resents Jamie for ruling out their father’s death as suicide.
However, all the speculations were put to rest when Sarah arrives to celebrate with Jamie. The duo were planning to remove John from the office so that Jamie could take over.
