At WWE SummerSlam, Logan Paul put his United States Championship on the line against LA Knight. Paul secured the United States Championship by defeating Rey Mysterio at WWE Crown Jewel last year. This victory marked a major milestone for Paul since he ventured into the world of WWE.
Throughout his title reign, Paul encountered criticism from fans who were displeased with the irregularity of his title defenses. His first defense came against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble in January. He later faced a high-stakes triple-threat match at WrestleMania 40, where he battled both Owens and Randy Orton.
Over his 279-day reign, Paul achieved the status of the third-longest reigning US Champion in WWE history, highlighting his significant impact during his time as champion. However he lost the title at WWE SummerSlam against LA Knight. Before his title defense against LA Knight, Logan Paul had defended the United States Championship only twice which drew a lot of criticism from the fans.
Although Paul has not appeared on television since his defeat, he has recently begun to outline his plans for the future. Despite the setback, Paul has shared what he intends to do next.
Logan Paul shares his future plan
WWE Superstar Logan Paul, who has been inactive since early August, recently shared his future plans on the latest episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast. Paul expressed his intention to seek a rematch with LA Knight for the United States Championship.
He stated, “He beat my ***. I’ll be honest. That match hurt. I mean look, congrats to him. He’s a very good wrestler. It was well-deserved, he fought extremely hard, kicked out of my knockout punch. But at the end of the day, it’s always gonna be my belt. It’s my belt. I see it on him. But everyone knows that US Title is mine. So you can have it for now, for the time being. But I’m coming back for a rematch. My foot was on the rope (at SummerSlam), it was on the rope on number three. In wrestling terms, that means the pin doesn’t count.”
Since he won the United States Championship at WWE SummerSlam, LA Knight has actively defended his title. He has put the championship on the line twice so far – first against Santos Escobar and most recently against Ludwig Kaiser this past Friday on SmackDown. It will be intriguing to see when Paul makes his comeback to confront Knight and challenge for the title once again.
