The Frog K-drama on Netflix: Cast & plot
Netflix’s The Frog K-drama stars Go Min-Si, Kim Yoon-Seok, Yoon Kye-Sang, and Lee Jung-Eun in lead roles.
Go Min-Si plays the mysterious woman, Yoo Seong-Ha. This is the first time the actress has played the role of a dangerous character. Explaining her character, she said, “I didn’t want Seong-Ha to appear as just a straightforward character. From the beginning to the end, I kept thinking about what lies deep within her and what she might be missing that drives her actions. I worked hard to portray my own version of Yoo Seong-Ha.”
Previously, Min-Si has appeared in shows and dramas like Sweet Home (all three seasons), Jinny’s Kitchen 2, Love Alarm, The Witch Part 1, and Running Man.
Additionally, Kim Yoon-Seok plays Jeon Yeong-Ha, who runs a vacation guest house in the woods. His peaceful life will change once Seong-Ha mysteriously checks into the cottage. The senior actor has often been both the screenwriter and director.
Kim Yoon-Seok wrote the 2013 film South Bound and directed the 2019 film Another Child. His dramas include Love Me When You Can, Thank You Life, Resurrection, and Loveholic. He has also appeared in multiple movies, such as The Chaser, Escape from Mogadishu, and Tazza 2.
The Frog also stars Yoon Kye-Sang, who plays Koo Sang-Jun. Twenty years ago, Sang-Jun used to run the guest house while living there with his family. One summer, an incident led to Sang-Jun losing everything.
The senior actor has worked on major projects earlier, including Who Are You?, My 19-Year-Old Sister-In-Law, The Greatest Love, Poongsan, High Kick Season 3, The Good Wife, and Destined With You.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung-Eun plays police officer Yoon Bo-Min in the new Netflix K-drama. Bo-Min was a police officer in Sang-Jun’s case 20 years ago. After two decades, she is transferred to the same police station as the chief. Jung-Eun is a popular senior actress in the South Korean drama industry. She played a supporting role in the Oscar-winning film Parasite (2019). She has also appeared in dramas like Miss Night and Day, Daily Dose of Sunshine, Behind Your Touch, and Our Blues.
The remaining cast includes Ryu Hyun-Kyung, Park Ji-Hwan, Roh Yoon-Seo, Kim Sung-Ryung, Park Chan-Yeol, and Hong Ki-Joon. Meanwhile, tune in to Netflix on Friday to watch The Frog.
