ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Rob Peace clip, previewing the upcoming biographical drama starring and directed by Academy Award-nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Rob Peace is based on the 2014 biography The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs, and follows the story of Peace, an intellectually brilliant young man who leaves his home in New Jersey to attend Yale University. The film is set to release on August 16, 2024.
What happens in the Rob Peace clip?
The clip sees Rob Peace (Jay Will) examining screens on microscope when he’s approached by two people who question why he’s there. After questioning something in one of their notebooks, Peace and the man have an awkward standoff, with the clip ending with Peace confronting the man on thinking he didn’t belong in the lab due to how he looked.

“The film follows the true story of a brilliant young man (Will) torn between his father’s shadowed past and his own promising future,” reads the synopsis. “Raised by his devoted mother (Blige), Rob risks everything he has worked for to free his imprisoned father (Ejiofor).”
Rob Peace is written and directed by Ejiofor, who also stars in the project. Alongside Ejiofor, Rob Peace also stars Jay Will, Mary J. Blige, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Kelly, Mare Winningham, and Camila Cabello. It is executive produced by Blige, Jamin O’Brien, Morgan Earnest, Luke Rodgers, Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Bruce Evans, Faye Stapleton, Ali Jazayeri, and David Gendron.
