Hulu’s upcoming documentary series Betrayal: A Father’s Secret plans to explore the horrifying case of Ashley Lytton who found disturbing details about her husband. The streaming platform recently released a trailer that showed how Ashley discovered a chilling secret about her husband, Jason Lytton. Additionally, it unravels how the police investigated the case and arrested Jason on child sex charges. The documentary will be available for streaming on Hulu on Tuesday, July 30.

According to ABC News, a person helping Jason Lytton to set up a Venmo account discovered several explicit pictures of minor girls. The outlet reported that the girls in the images were between 8 and 15. After the incident, the person spoke to Lytton’s brother, who then had a conversation with the convict. Subsequently, Lytton contacted the person who helped him and admitted that he had child pornography in his possession. Citing the arrest affidavit, the publication noted that the person contacted the police and told them everything, after which authorities searched his phone and found the disturbing material. Lytton was subsequently arrested and charged with 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

What did Jason Lytton from Betrayal: A Father’s Secret do & was he convicted?

Per ABC News, authorities found many naked pictures of young girls on Jason Lytton’s phone. Earlier, the convict told the person helping him set up a Venmo account that he “had a problem.” Apart from finding several pictures, police also found multiple videos of child pornography on the device. The court reportedly indicted him on 10 second-degree felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, one third-degree felony charge of obstructing justice, and two Class A misdemeanor charges of voyeurism by concealed or disguised electronic equipment.

However, the accused never went on trial because he took a plea deal and received a minimum sentence. Citing the plea deal, ABC News reported that the court convicted Jason Lytton of one charge of sexual exploitation and two voyeurism charges. Meanwhile, the court dismissed all the other charges with prejudice. The court sentenced him to 329 days in prison after receiving credit for the time already served. Additionally, the court suspended the prison time for a sexual exploitation charge and ordered him to do 48 months of probation.
