Kate Siegel to Star in Dark Comedy Damned If You Do

The Fall of the House of Usher actress Kate Siegel is set to executive produce and star in Damned If You Do, a dark comedy directed by Jake Rubin and Evan Metzold. Production on the movie is currently underway.

Written by Ellen Adair and Eric Gilde, Damned If You Do will serve as both Rubin and Metzold’s directorial debut. They are also executive producing the movie alongside Siegel. It is produced by Objectively Good Media’s Matthew R. Cooper and Uwakokunre (Kokie) Imasogie.

What is Damned If You Do about?

Considering that it is still in its early stages of production, other details about the movie are still being kept under wraps. However, Deadline reported that the film will follow a group of friends who sold their souls to the devil at a young age in exchange for a better life and career. However, their wishes come with a cost. And with their contract’s deadline drawing closer, they must do anything in their power — including relying on their old classmate — in order to escape Hell.

According to the outlet, Damned If You Do will center on “a group of teenage friends who sold their souls to the devil. Naturally, life grants them different paths: a rock star, a tech mogul, and a high-profile activist. Years later, they must rely on an old classmate to try and escape Hell’s grasp before the contract’s deadline of their 25th high school reunion.”

“We feel very lucky to be working with such a talented and hilarious cast. They make our job easy and bring a wealth of experience to the table that has helped to elevate an already spectacular script. Between our incredible cast and crew, we have formed a remarkable team that truly feels like family, and we are excited to collaborate with this group on our debut feature,” the directors said in a joint statement shared with the outlet.

Siegel, dubbed one of the modern scream queens, is no stranger to the horror genre. Her extensive body of work includes Oculus, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game, and Midnight Mass. Just last year, the actress also starred as Camille L’Espanaye in the hit The Fall of the House of Usher
