America’s Got Talent Alex Sampson courageously sang an original song named “Pretty Baby” on AGT 2024. Though he didn’t earn a Golden Buzzer, the 50’s retro feel of the song and his smooth vocals easily earned him four ‘Yes’ votes from the judges. While Alex was visibly nervous at the start of his audition, he was able to convince the panel, especially Simon Cowell, that it was smart for him to take a different genre lane than the rest of the competition. Alex Sampson from America’s Got Talent 2024 released “Pretty Baby” after his audition and will be releasing a video for it on his YouTube channel. So even if he doesn’t win the $1 million grand prize from the show, he’s using his appearance as an opportunity to make his name known to a wider audience.
So far in 2024, the artist has been busy releasing music on his YouTube channel. He has released both the official audio and visualizer for “Pretty Baby,” a live acoustic version of “The Girl Who Cried Love” and “BLIND” from Los Angeles, and the official music video for “The Girl Who Cried Love” too. He also played a showcase at the Hotel Ziggy on June 12, 2024 and had a full 37-minute sit-down interview with Zach Sang in January 2024 that’s available on YouTube.
On his official account on X, Alex describes himself as a singer, songwriter, and chicken wing lover. He was born on January 20 and stated that he was only 20 years old during his audition. His Instagram profile is impressive as well, standing at about 1 million followers.

If Alex Sampson makes it through to the live shows, he will appear again on the show sometime between August 13 and September 18, 2024. According to the full TV schedule for the show, there will be a two-week gap between July and August due to the 2024 Paris Olympics. NBC has yet to reveal which live shows that he will be assigned to, but considering all of the singing talent this year, let’s hope that he will be in a less competitive group.
Case in point, as far as singers are concerned for AGT 2024, there have been four that have received a Golden Buzzer up to this point. This includes the janitor Richard Goodall, soulful singer Liv Warfield, 9-year-old Pranysqa Mishra, and 14-year-old Reid Wilson. And then of course there are many other singers and singing groups that have made it through to the semi-finals. Hopefully, Alex Sampson’s original songs (or perhaps one of his covers) will earn him a spot in the finals.
