Trap MPA Rating Revealed for M. Night Shyamalan’s Serial Killer Movie

The official Trap MPA rating for Warner Bros.’ upcoming psychological thriller has finally been revealed. The film is currently slated to debut in theaters on Friday, August 2, 2024.

What is the Trap MPA rating?

The Motion Pictures Association has officially granted M. Night Shyamalan‘s upcoming Trap movie a PG-13 rating for “some violent content and brief strong language.” This is different from the acclaimed filmmaker’s last directorial project, Knock at the Cabin, which received an R-rating. The 2022 movie earned a worldwide gross of over $50 million at the box office against a reported budget of $20 million

“In the film, a father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event,” reads the synopsis.

Trap is directed and produced by M. Night Shyamalan through his Blinding Edge Pictures banner as part of his new first-look deal with Warner Bros. The film will be led by Josh Hartnett as Cooper, Ariel Donoghue as Riley, and Shyamalan’s eldest daughter Saleka Shyamalan as Lady Raven. The latter also provided original songs for the movie after previously collaborating with her father on the soundtracks of the 2021 movie Old and the Apple TV+ series Servant. The cast will also include Hayley Mills, Alison Pill, Marnie McPhail, and Vanessa Smythe.
