The Acolyte Episode 6 Ending Explained & Spoilers: Does Osha Join Qimir?

Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 6, titled Teach/Corrupt, has aired, and the viewers want to know whether Osha joins Qimir to become his new acolyte or apprentice. The Acolyte, arguably more than any other entries in the Star Wars franchise, focuses on the duality of things in that fictional universe. This is especially underscored by various episode titles. Even episode 3, despite being titled Destiny, explores the notion of free will through the Brendok witches’ approach to the Force/Thread. In episode 6, twins Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg) switch places and find themselves in the company of each other’s masters. While Mae still seeks revenge, Osha faces the risk of being corrupted by the Dark Side.

Here is what happens at the end of Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 6.

What happened at the end of Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 6?

In this episode, Mae wakes up on a yet-unidentified planet, likely the same one where the Stranger/Mae’s Master was introduced in the series in episode 1. Grabbing one of her sister’s knives, Osha finds Qimir as he strips off his clothes for a bath. There is a not-so-subtle undertone of seduction here, and it doesn’t take long for Osha to realize that Qimir wants her to embrace the Dark Side.

On the Jedi ship, Mae pretends to be her sister and even fixes up Pip. Although Sol initially alerts the Jedi Order about the deaths on Khofar, he fails to inform them about the Sith due to a faulty connection through the subspace transceiver. When a Jedi party led by Vernestra Rwo arrives on Khofar to investigate, Sol is inevitably regarded as a suspect.

Meanwhile, Sol makes a decision that enunciates his personal struggles about what happened on Brendok 16 years ago and what is happening now. Foregoing the plans of telling the Order about the re-emergence of the Sith, he knocks Mae out, as he has known exactly who she is. When Mae regains consciousness, she discovers that Sol has bound her to the medical bed. He tells her that he wants her help to find Qimir and Osha. But first, he needs her to listen to what he has to say.

Does Osha join Qimir and the dark side to become a Sith Lord?

While Sol’s actions are evidently driven by desperation and executed poorly, Qimir, who claims to be a former Jedi, gradually breaks through Osha’s psychological defenses. He shows her that there is an alternate path to the Force that doesn’t ask her to give up on her emotions. He thought he could adhere to the Sith Rule of Two with Mae, failing to realize that the latter’s ambitions didn’t exceed beyond her desire for revenge.

However, Osha has a completely different personality from her sister, and Qimir has seemingly realized that she will make a better Acolyte. As the episode ends, Osha puts on Qimir’s cortosis helmet. As the credits start rolling, her breathing starts sounding eerily similar to Darth Vader, implying that she will become a Sith Lord. Alternatively, Osha can still fend off Qimir’s attempts to pull her into the Dark Side long enough for Sol and Mae to arrive. The helmet can definitely protect her if that is indeed the case.
