Prabhas’ most anticipated project, Kalki 2898 AD, has finally arrived in theaters worldwide. Directed by Nag Ashwin, it is a mythological sci-fi action film based on the events of the Hindu epic the Mahabharata, showcasing the end of the Kali Yuga. While the plot features several powerful entities, including Prabhas’ Bhairava and Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama, the film also has its fair share of villains.

Who are the villains in Kalki 2898 AD?

Yaskin

Tamil star Kamal Haasan portrayed the lead antagonist of Kalki 2898 AD, Yaskin. The film focuses on a futuristic township named The Complex, which has all the resources of Earth. The makers of the Complex exhausted Kashi of its natural supplies, and it now charges a whopping one million units for people to access the place. Supreme Yaskin is the creator and ruler of Complex.

As the character was a difficult one, Kamal Haasan revealed that he took almost a year to agree to play it. During a promotional event, he said, “It’s not a question of torture. Self-doubt comes you know. He has done this. (Pointing towards Amitabh and Prabhas) What am I going to do? That was the reason. And it’s not that I’ve played bad guys before. Even as a lead bad guy, psychopaths, and all that. But this is something else.” Nevertheless, his extended cameo is receiving a lot of praise from the audience.

Commander Manas

Commander Manas is another crucial character in Kalki 2898 AD who is shown in a negative light. Saswata Chatterjee plays a significant role in the film. The methods he uses to serve the Complex make him an exciting antagonistic figure. Commander Manas commits himself to protecting the sanctity of the Complex and would leave no stone unturned to neutralize any threat.
