Redfall DLC Refunds

Microsoft Issues Refunds for Canceled Redfall DLC

Players have reported that Microsoft has begun to issue refunds to those who preordered the canceled Redfall DLC. When Microsoft-owned Zenimax shuttered the game’s developer, Arkane Austin, at the start of May, all development on the game ceased and the Hero Pass DLC was canceled. Now, refunds are starting to roll out to those who bought the Bite Back Edition of the game.

Redfall DLC refunds available for Xbox and Steam

The Redfall Bite Back Edition included access to the Hero Pass DLC, as well as the Throwback Outfit Pack, weapon skins, and a weapon attachment. The two heroes with unique powers and gameplay that were to be included in the Hero Pass DLC will not be released, although the rest of the content is still available.

When the DLC was canceled, Microsoft promised to “provide make-good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC“. According to Windows Central, those offers are seemingly refunds to the value of the Bite Back Edition Content expansion for those who purchased the Bite Back Edition on Xbox and Steam. This is $29.99 for those who paid full price or $26.99 for those who used the 10% Game Pass discount. Despite the refund, players can still access the outfits, weapon skins, and weapon attachment.

Refund emails for the digital edition of the game seem to be rolling out in waves. Players are encouraged to keep an eye on their spam folder in case the email falls in there. Those who purchased the physical edition are encouraged to contact Bethesda Customer Support to submit a ticket and receive a refund.

Since the announcement of the studio closure, Arkane Austin did leave players with a parting gift in the form of a content update. Game Update 4 included a new Community Standing system, Boss-focused Elder Nests, an offline mode, pausing in single-player mode, Story Mode difficulty, and plenty of other quality of life improvements.
