EA Sports details Madden NFL 25 gameplay

Madden NFL 25 Gameplay Detailed, Overhauls Tackling

EA Sports recently released some new information on Madden NFL 25’s gameplay. The upcoming sports sim features overhauled tackling, improved ball carrier control, and more when it launches worldwide on August 16.

What do we know about Madden NFL 25’s gameplay?

EA Sports discussed Madden NFL 25’s gameplay in a recent press release. Among the new features is the “Boom Tech” physics-based tackling system, which EA says offers “more control and realism than ever.” The “data-driven physics system” accounts for a variety of factors to create a range of dramatic but realistic tackling animations. Relevant factors include player ratings, strength, momentum, weight, speed, and timing.

The inverse of improved tackling is the game’s new Ball Carrier Balance and Recovery System. “Feel the impact of every hit and experience the thrill of breaking tackles like never before with more realistic and dynamic ball carrier experience,” says EA Sports. “Absorb big hits, regain your balance, and continue the drive, all based on the intensity of the collision and the ratings of the players involved.”

Madden NFL 25 also features a re-engineered Hit Stick. This timing-based mechanic offers greater control while accounting for the angle of impact, accuracy, and realistic physics.

Meanwhile, EA Sports says that the game offers “increased authenticity” thanks to its trademarked FieldSense. “New team-specific plays from some of the NFL’s most innovative play-callers bring enhanced strategy and gameplay variety, including the new NFL hybrid kickoff,” says EA. It also features new animations and new mechanics for carriers, receivers, and defenders.

Other Madden NFL 25 features include an improved Franchise mode, a Superstar mode with a customizable avatar, more roster customization options, and two additional commentary teams.
