SM Entertainment’s famous boy band NCT 127 will make a summer comeback after seven years. Korean reports reveal the release date window for NCT 127’s new album, which will drop before their fan meeting.
NCT 127 is attending numerous live concerts this summer. Recently, KCON LA 2024 revealed the sub-unit as their special headliner on the final day of the music festival. The upcoming live performances of NCT 127 will differ as the group will miss leader Taeyong’s presence, who enlisted in the Korean military in April.
NCT 127 new album to release ahead of August 2024 fan meet
Per an exclusive Korean media report, NCT 127 is all set to make a summer comeback with their sixth full-length album in mid-July. Previously, Taeyong, Yuta, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, Mark, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan made a summer comeback in 2017. Since then, the K-pop group has avoided summer concepts as it ventured into more grungy rock-inspired music, which was not fit to be released in the summertime.
If NCT 127’s release date window is mid-July, fans can expect the group to perform their new comeback tracks on KCON LA 2024. The group will take the stage at the music festival on July 28 at Crypto.com Arena, LA Convention Center, GILBERT LINDSAY PLAZA.
NCT 127 will hold its upcoming fan concert in August following the comeback. The “Sticker” crooners will meet NCTzens at their 8th-anniversary fan meeting at Jamsil Indoor Stadium. The 2024 edition of the fan meeting, titled 8ECRET INVITATION, will happen on August 3, 2024, at 6 p.m. KST / 5 a.m. ET, and August 4 at 4 p.m. KST / 3 a.m. ET.
Meanwhile, NCT 127 released their last studio album, Fact Check, on October 6, 2023, which brought impressive success for the group. The nine-track album sold over 1.9 million copies worldwide. In South Korea, it ranked number 1 on the Circle Album Chart with 1,863,383 unit sales. The album was also ranked 16 on the Billboard 200 chart with over 39,000 unit sales.
