The Player 2: Master of Swindlers Episode 4 Recap: Song Seung-Heon Is Shot

The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 4 aired on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, on tvN and Viki. Starring Song Seung-Heon as Kang Ha-Ri, the action-crime K-drama revolves around a group of swindlers who call themselves players. They join forces with Oh Yeon-Seo to scam rich criminals who earn money illegally and are not caught.

In the previous episode, Ha-Ri and Jung Soo-Min (Yeon-Soo) worked together to bring down CEO Kim Yun-Gi. When Ha-Ri met Yun-Gi’s drug dealer, he knew his cover would be blown. The dealer was Dex, one of Jeffrey’s subordinates. Furthermore, they killed Ha-Ri’s team member, Cha Ah-Ryung, in the first episode of this drama.

The latest episode 4 begins with Dex trying to remember Ha-Ri and the latter dodging his question. Eventually, Dex recalls, leading to a huge fight between the two parties. Fortunately, prosecutor Kwak Do-Soo (Ha Do-Gwon) arrives with a police force and catches the bad guys. However, Jeffrey’s secretary and another subordinate make things worse. While one shoots Ha-Ri, the other helps Dex run away.

The Player 2: Master of Swindlers Episode 4 spoilers: Oh Yeon-Seo gives Song Seung-Heon another mission after he recovers

In The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 4, Dex is on the run. Meanwhile, Prosecutor Do-Soo interrogates Yun-Gi, but the latter brags about his connections with powerful people. When Do-Soo takes a break from the interrogation and leaves the room, Yun-Gi is found dead a few minutes later. It seems Jeffery has taken care of the loose ends.

Then, the episode shows Ha-Ri being discharged from the hospital. On the way home, Soo-Min introduces him to another big case. Chaebol heir Min Won Joon, 27, has killed an innocent young man, Lee Sang-Wook, after driving under the influence. But he is set free on probation because of his connection with Baek Hyeon-Mi. She is an artist who appears to be a powerful person with high connections. She holds several weak points about A-list people and uses them when the need arises. In return, she bribes them with her million-dollar paintings.

Ha-Ri and his team’s new mission is to put Hyeon-Mi behind bars.

The Player 2: Master of Swindlers Episode 4 ending: Song Seung-Heon meets Oh Yeon-Seo’s boss

Towards the end of The Player 2: Master of Swindlers’ latest episode, Soo-Min brings Ha-Ri to a private property. She wants him to meet an important person who is the one giving the missions indirectly to Ha-Ri. When he finds out who Soo-Min’s boss is, his jaw drops.

The boss is Choi Chang-Ho, Mr. President. It is unclear if Ha-Ri is surprised or unhappy to see an influential person in front of him. This time, the team has to be extremely careful with their plan. The end credit scene shows Ha-Ri discussing the new mission with his team while sympathizing with Sang-Wook’s parents.

Jae-Yi (Jang Gyu-Ri) looks sad and leaves the conversation. Ha-Ri follows her and tries to understand why she is unhappy. He calls his team his family, which annoys Jae-Yi. She says, “What kind of family is like this? You would take care of family first if you really are a family.” She refers to seeking revenge for the murder of her sister, Ah-Ryung. Ha-Ri remains calm and patiently asks her to trust him for a bit longer. Will Ha-Ri keep his promise? Only time will tell.

Moreover, in the upcoming episode 5, Ha-Ri will devise a plan to meet Hyeon-Mi. She is a cunning and smart lady, which means Ha-Ri’s plan may not work. The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 5 will air on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN.

The K-drama also streams on Viki every Monday and Tuesday.
